Effective June 30th 2021, churches are permitted to celebrate Masses and other liturgies at 25% capacity. This roughly works out to 210 people in the church. As a result of this, we are returning to a ‘first-come, first-served’ approach to attendance at Mass. Parishioners are no longer required to register for weekend Masses. However, once capacity is reached, the doors will be locked and no one will be allowed in the building after this point.
This system will be in effect until approximately July 21st when potentially we can move into level three as per provincial health guidelines.
We remind you that health protocols remain in place. This means that social distancing of six feet between different social bubbles and face masks are mandatory in the church.
Once again we remind you that if you are unwell, please do not come to Mass. Please watch Mass on television or on the internet. One option is our parish livestreamed Mass which happens on Saturdays at 5:00 pm and is uploaded onto our parish YouTube channel for viewing the entire week. Our parish YouTube channel link is St. Benedict Milton YouTube Channel
On July 1st, we celebrate Canada Day, we are having a livestreamed Mass at 9:00 am. If you are unable to attend physically please feel welcome to join us virtually.
Finally, we welcome Father Vivek Trindade to our parish community. Father Trindade was ordained by Bishop Crosby for the Diocese of Hamilton in May of 2019. He comes to us from our neighbouring parish, Holy Rosary in Milton. Bishop Crosby assigned him to our parish effective June 30th and we hope his stay with us will be a positive and blessed experience for him and the parish.
Have a wonderful Canada Day!
Father Jim Petrie
